Fruit Tree Rescue

We have launched a food rescue program that is focused on one of the most nutritious forms of food – fresh produce. In 2020 We partnered with Big Red Orchard and rescued over 5,000 lbs of apples and over 120 gallons of cider after they closed for the season.

We are in touch with owners of fruit orchards across the area and work with them to collect any excess fruit at the end of the season or that would otherwise go to waste throughout the season, then getting it in the hands of neighbors who are food insecure.
