Metro Food Rescue Fresh Everyday Pantry
This year Metro Food Rescue launched Fresh Everyday Pantries at Gratiot Woods and Theresa Maxis Co-op Senior Apartments. These are the first two sites of a pilot program that runs through September 2027, funded by the Michigan Health Endowment Fund. The Fresh Everyday pantry provides free everyday access to fresh fruits, vegetables, bread and other food items for residents. The pantry is conveniently located inside the building and includes a refrigerator, shelves, and informational resources. They are restocked on a regular schedule to ensure there is always fresh food available for people who need it. During the duration of this pilot program Metro Food Rescue will launch and run 8-10 Fresh Everyday Pantries in hopes of getting more quality food to our neighbors in need!
